Grants totalling £250,000 are being made available through Bolton's Fund for groups helping residents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This aims to support food banks, community kitchens and others working to support those in most need.
Bolton’s Fund is a programme delivered by Bolton Council, NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group, Bolton at Home and Bolton CVS.
Bolton Council’s member for stronger communities, Cllr Nadim Muslim, said: "Lockdown and local restrictions have impacted on the economy and placed families and individuals under financial pressure.
"In Bolton we are lucky to have many community organisations which can help people who are struggling to access essentials and put food on their table during the Covid pandemic.
"On behalf of all the Bolton’s Fund partners, we’re delighted to make funding available to help these groups and local residents in need."
