THIS month is Down’s Syndrome Awareness month and a charity in Bolton is urging people to get involved in supporting those with the condition.

Bolton Smiley Faces is a charity for people and the families of those living with down’s syndrome.

The charity members have also recently published a book for parents-to-be in Bolton who have been told that their baby will have down’s.

Jaqui Jones-Roberts’ son Ethan is 15 and lives with the condition and she is urging people to get behind the charity during the awareness month.

Jaqui said: “The charity are here to support those with down’s syndrome but we also want to raise awareness of the condition.

“We want people to know that we are all the same and that those with the condition can go on to live a normal life with the help and support.”

Jaqui said: “There is so much support out there and things are changing slowly.
“We have models for Marks and Spencer, actors on Coronation Street and adverts that is just amazing for the people living with the condition.

“It would be amazing if people can take a moment and realise how wonderful we all are and that nobody is different than anyone else.”

The charity holds monthly meetings and social events providing a forum for children to form friendships and families to support each other.
