SO what do you remember most about your schooldays? It might be a particular teacher who inspired you, it could be the smell of school dinners or, perhaps it might be memories of the school plays, performances and events which gave you the chance to dress up and act the fool.
We headed back into the archives for this great collection of photographs taken in Bolton schools in just one year - 1980 - to see what pupils got up to.
The Wizard of Oz appears to have been a big favourite that year for school productions but it seems youngsters were very happy to dress up and take to the stage.
