A TOUCH of glamour will mark the end of coronavirus restrictions in Bolton with a two-day festival of fashion.

The first Bolton Fashion and Lifestyle Festival was all set to go ahead on March 27 but had to be postponed suddenly when the country went into full lockdown just two days before.

Organiser Lisa Forshaw announced this week that the festival would be back ‘bigger and better’ next year when it was safe to do so.

Lisa said: “I can announce that Bolton Fashion and Lifestyle Festival will take place over two days now.

“I cried when we had to postpone the festival this year, it was the first time an event like this would have been held in Bolton.

“But during this time we have been working hard behind the scenes to make it even bigger and better.

“I am so excited for it and so is everyone who has been involved in it. Everyone has been working hard and Bolton Council has been so supportive and encouraging.”

Lisa has previously been instrumental in staging two Manchester Fashion Festivals, which brought together regional fashion and celebrities.

She now wants to replicate that in her home town.

“I am a Bolton girl and am so passionate about my town,” said Lisa, “I know this town will pull together and come back stronger after Covid.”

Big names will be heading to the town when the festival can go ahead. They include runway shows from fashion designer to the stars Zeynep Kartal and Christine McGuinness as festival ambassadors. The festival will showcase talented Bolton designers, including from the University of Bolton.
