A BOY has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after concerns were raised over “cuckooing” at a person’s home.
Officers were called about “suspicious behaviour” at Hedge Parsley Crescent in Stone Cross near Eastbourne.
There were fears that the home of a vulnerable occupant had been taken over and used as a base for deals.
Police entered the address because of the concerns, and found cash inside. There was also drugs believed to be heroin.
The officers went there on October 21.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons but is not a tenant at the property, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
He was released on conditional bail until November 18 while the investigation continues.
Police said steps to safeguard the vulnerable tenant are being taken.
