Ford Mondeo that tried to ram police officers after being chased through Farnworth
OFFICERS are searching for the driver of a car that allegedly tried to ram them off the road, before running off.
A traffic patrol spotted a silver Ford Mondeo that appeared to be speeding along Albert Road, Farnworth, last night.
When officers followed the car into Kearsley, the driver failed to stop – leading them on a chase.
During the pursuit, the driver allegedly tried to ram the police car off the road, using violent attempts to smash into the vehicle.
Unfortunately, officers were unable to arrest the driver, as they are alleged to have run away after abandoning the car in Stoneclough.
The Mondeo has now been seized for a forensic examination, and enquiries are ongoing to find the person responsible.
