EACH week we have been shining the spotlight on a local restaurant, this time it’s a bit different.

As we are in a second lockdown all restaurants have been forced to close down table service but can continue to operate a takeaway service.

We spoke to Ciao Baby in Egerton as they prepare to continue to operate as a takeaway.

IT’S not goodbye for Egerton restaurant Ciao Baby.

The establishment on Bolton Road is still open, offering customers a takeaway service throughout the second lockdown.

The Italian restaurant will be open five nights a week with the full menu on offer.

Restaurant manager Yvonne Shum said that times were hard but with the support of the local community the restaurant will get by.

The kitchen is open

She said: “We are doing OK, we have the full menu still with a 20 per cent discount on offer.

“Customers are supporting us and we have been here nine years so people are coming and going and getting their takeaway orders in. We couldn’t do it without them.

“We will look forward to welcoming people back in December.

“People are still trying to book for Christmas Day but we don’t know what will happen.”

The takeaway service will be available from from 5pm Friday to Tuesday (2pm on Sunday).

Ciao Baby is closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
