Would you buy a car from a salesman who tells you that the vehicle is 90% reliable and the brakes are also only 90% reliable?

I think, like me you would not buy it.

The Government are now wanting to inject the population with a vaccine, after only a few months of testing which is only 90% effective based on trials using 43,000 volunteers, half of whom were given placebos.

This means the vaccine is being launched after only 22,500 people were tested.

Let us suggest that from a population of 68 million, 40 million are immunised and 90% are effective. That would mean four million of us could have all sorts of side effects or of course none at all.

Normally before vaccines come into the public domain, they have years of testing and some still do not pass the vigorous UK standards. Why the rush to get a vaccine out for a virus that has a 99% survival rate?

As an 80-year-old, having had a long and happy life and being among those that will be offered the vaccine before those younger than myself, I am not prepared to take the risk and have decided to decline having the vaccine.

I and some other ‘oldies’ are willing to offer our ‘doses’ to those who are vital to resolving this pandemic and would like them to go to Boris, his Cabinet and the scientists.

I have gone through this pandemic not wearing a mask (asthmatic) and using common sense whilst visiting shops, ‘covid protected’ cafes and restaurants and will continue to do so when these disastrous lockdowns are lifted.
