A DISGUISE walking stick with a hidden knife as a handle was left in a phone box in Breightmet, police say.
Officers reported that a member of the public handed the weapon in to police after they found it in a phone box on Blenheim Road.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been stepping up patrols following a number of serious incidents in the last few months, including two stabbings.
A GMP Bolton North spokesman said: "Extra officers are continuing to patrol Breightmet in response to recent incidents of disorder.
"Thank you to the member of the public who handed this into officers.
"The ‘walking stick’, which had a hidden knife as a handle, was left in a phone box on Blenheim Road."
