A MAN has been charged after a woman was robbed near a supermarket cash machine in Harwood, according to police.
Officers were called to reports of a robbery outside a store on Lea Gate just after 6:45pm on Wednesday.
A woman had withdrawn some money from a cash machine and then had her bank card and cash stolen.
An off duty police officer and members of the public managed to detain a man at the scene.
Police arrived and an arrest was made.
Alan Holden, of Crumpsall Street, Bolton, was subsequently charged with robbery.
The 31-year-old appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court yesterday and was remanded to appear at Bolton Crown Court on Wednesday, December 16.
