BOLTON Wanderers legend Tony Kelly found himself back on the pitch — when he landed a starring role in a music video.

The Whites midfielder, who helped Wanderers win promotion in 1992-93, appears alongside three Bolton College students in the video for the Solomon Grey track 'See You There', remixes by music producer Hectic.

Bolton Wanderers fan Kyle Cambray, a learning development officer at the college, approached Bolton Wanderers to ask if the stadium could be used as the location and was stunned when Tony agreed to star in it too.

Kyle, a lifelong fan and season-ticket holder, worked alongside college theatre technician Edd Lewis to film and produce the video.

Kyle, who has also been in front of the camera, played Sheridan Smith’s brother in the biopic ‘Cilla’, said: “As a huge Wanderers fan, it was an honour to film at the University of Bolton Stadium.

“Tony was great in front of the camera, and as always our students performed brilliantly.”

The video was filmed last season at The University of Bolton Stadium, but production stalled following the Covid crisis. and it was finally released this week.

College performing arts students Lewis Magee, Harry Dobson and Kiyra Green star in the video, with Lewis playing an aspiring footballer. Tony Kelly steps up to play the part of Lewis’s manager,

Tony said: “I hav e enjoyed the experience of starring in the video and working with the students. I would like to wish Lewis, Kiyra and Harry all the best in the future with their careers. I am now looking forward to being nominated for a BAFTA for my performance!”

The stadium takes centre stage in the video, with the penalty kick, taken by Lewis, being filmed in front of a Wanderers home crowd at last years’ Emirates FA Cup First Round match against Plymouth Argyle.
