COMIC Dave Spikey has urged fellow Boltonians to sign up for December Daily Dash in aid of the Sue Ryder charity.

The Farnworth funnyman is backing an appeal by the healthcare charity, which has shops in Westhoughton and Horwich, next month.

Charity officials are asking the public to either run, jog or walk for 5km a day in aid of their neurological care work,

Funds will be directed towards their assisted living centre at Preston, which cares for a number of people from across Lancashire with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries.

Dave Spikey, a longtime supporter, said: "I think it's brilliant Sue Ryder has been able to expand its neurological care in Lancashire and I'd like to encourage people in the area to take part in the December Daily Dash, to help the charity boost its support and rehabilitation to people across the county with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries. Terry Mears, the care centre's director, added: “December can be an incredibly difficult month for many, so the December Daily Dash is a great way to take some time out to think and reflect whilst raising money for an incredible cause."
