It is strange how the council spends our council tax. Cutbacks everywhere and yet a fortune has been spent on the town hall, totally unnecessary in these times; road schemes to put cycle lanes around the town eg Trinity Street junction and now on the horizon the Bridgeman Street/St Peter’s Way junction is going to get the same treatment.
They say traffic flow to the town is important but do everything to impede it!
In the current climate more money should be spent on road maintenance not new schemes.
When was the last time you saw a traffic jam in a cycle lane?
And while we are at it, why don’t cyclists pay to use our roads? They ignore traffic lights, ride on pavements - one nearly knocked me over on a pedestrian pelican crossing and rode through the red light!
Sorry all this “green”stuff is a waste of our money. All these schemes impede traffic flow.
