I am writing in response to your article, from Watson Construction Ltd on Friday. November 13.

Watson Construction stated, quote “the recent ONS estimates have shown a decline in population in Little Lever by 300 people in recent years, with a higher than average proportion over older residents in Little Lever (25 per cent over 65) compared with the Bolton and Greater Manchester proportion (16-17 per cent)”.

Am I missing the point here? Are they are implying that there will be more homes available as the older population are passing away?

If so, with 300 less people, why does Little Lever need a further 274, properties, with 244 that will be affordable, to be developed by Watsons, especially with 95 properties destroying one of the last bits of Green Belt at Hall Lane?

It doesn’t make sense to me.

I would urge all the residents in Little Lever, who do not agree with the proposed developments, to register a complaint to the planning department at Bolton Town Hall, www.bolton.gov.uk/planapps, or in writing to: Bolton Council, Planning Control, Development Management, Town Hall, Bolton, BL1 1RU
