FIRE crews were called after a car was set alight in the early hours.

Crews from Bolton Central station were called around 4am on Saturday morning to a car alight in a driveway in Hulton Lane, Bolton.

They were on scene for around an hour.

Bolton Central crew manager Darren Collier said: “The fire was contained to just the one car on the driveway and we were in attendance for about an hour. It didn’t cause any damage to the surrounding property with just the car badly damaged and the police are now investigating into it further.”

A spokesman from Greater Manchester Police said: “No arrests have been made and joint enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 500 of 28/11/2020, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue, added: “A fire engine from Bolton Central attended and quickly brought the fire under control."
