A man has died following a collision in Bolton this morning.

Shortly after 9.45am, police were called to reports of a collision between a large delivery wagon and a pedestrian on a backstreet off Bradford Street.

Emergency services attended but sadly despite the best efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian - a 65-year-old man - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the wagon remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.

Several road closures were in place but these have since been lifted.

Enquiries are ongoing.
