A Bolton MP has called on the government to offer more protection to those with dementia during the coronavirus pandemic.
Yasmin Qureshi, MP for Bolton South East, has made this call after it was revealed that people affected by Dementia make up over a quarter of all deaths with Covid-19.
Ms Qureshi said: "With Winter approaching, we need to take action to safeguard the most vulnerable in our society from the annual dangers that they face and the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
"We also need to acknowledge and address the issues of isolation and loneliness that people affected by Dementia are facing during this crisis, which is having a detrimental impact on their condition.
"I have written to the Minister for Care, Helen Whately, and raised this issue with her."
"It is imperative that society always looks-out for the most vulnerable."
