BOLTON comedian and actress Diane Morgan is hosting a new radio show that celebrates the life and work of late writer, comedian and musician Neil Innes.

Innes, who died aged 75 in December last year, was most famous for being a member of The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and creating The Beatles pastiche The Rutles.

Neil Innes: Dip My Brain In Joy, which is broadcast on Radio 4 Extra, sees Morgan hosting a three part programme "celebrating his life, work and absurdist tendencies".

There are old interviews, performances and programmes, conversations with family, friends and fans including his wife of over fifty years Yvonne, Stephen Fry, Adrian Edmondson, Kevin Eldon, Rick Wakeman and Arthur Smith, alongside Monty Python members Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin.

Morgan said: "On top of being comedically and musically gifted, Neil was also a really nice man. A beautiful, kind, gentle soul. Considered, absurd, and delightful".

Episode One of Neil Innes: Dip My Brain In Joy is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra on Wednesday, December 2 at 11am.
