SIX more people have now died at the Royal Bolton Hospital after contracting coronavirus.

Two patient deaths from Friday, three from Saturday, and one from Monday have all been linked to covid-19.

A total of 384 people have now died at the borough hospital after contracting coronavirus.

The latest update came as 77 new cases were confirmed across Bolton – brining the total number of infections in the borough to 15,140.

Infection rates continued to drop, with 710 cases reported in the week up to November 26, a rate of 246.9.

In the week before, the seven-days up to November 19 saw 985 new cases reporter – a rate of 342.5.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 74,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK, with cases nearing 1,650,000.
