A COUNCILLOR has helped out residents in Farnworth by laying bricks over a muddy back alley.
Cllr Paul Sanders came up with the idea of putting extra bricks to good use at St Germain Street.
Residents now have a solid path to drag their wheelie bins across.
Cllr Sanders said: “This particular back alley has sadly been repeatedly exploited by fly-tippers and the terrain is extremely boggy and dangerous.
“The community is rallying together and pulling up our sleeves to improve the situation.
“There are a number of unadopted back streets in Farnworth in a similar condition.
“Farnworth and Kearsley First councillors want to work with residents and will liaise with the Highways Department to re-use road planings from road improvement works to even-out and dry-up the worse back streets.”
