STRUGGLING families across the borough will be able to celebrate Christmas in style thanks to the generosity of a kind-hearted firm.

Four Recruitment have launched The Big Bolton Secret Santa – a campaign to create 100 festive boxes for families in need.

Gifts, food, and toiletries to the value of around £50 will be packed into each box, before the special deliveries are handed over to Fortalice and Bolton Lads and Girls Club to be distributed to those who need them most.

Phil Sofield, the co-owner of the firm, said: “As a parent myself, the thought of any child waking up on Christmas morning with nothing is just not right and that must also have such an awful impact on the parents as well.

"This year more than ever before we all need something to smile about and hopefully with the support I know we will receive there will lots of families that at least over Christmas will be smiling."

Earlier this year, the firm hosted The Big Bolton Dash – raising almost £30,000 for Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

After their huge success in July, Four Recruitment are confident that local businesses will get involved – making sure vulnerable kids are able to wake up to a present on Christmas morning.

Gill Smallwood, chief executive of Fortalice, added: "We are absolutely delighted that Four recruitment have chosen to support the children we work with in our Charity.

"When a child comes into the Refuge, they often come in with nothing and to be able to give them new presents or vouchers on Christmas morning is amazing.

"A huge thank you from Fortalice, we could not do this much needed work without you.”

The campaign is already off to a good start, with many individuals and companies stepping up to lend a hand.

Donations can be made in three ways: by filling a children's gift box based on a child's profile, creating a food box with non-perishable goods, or donating cash via GoFundMe.
