A SUPPORT group has urged people to be wary of emails from strangers after a new scam appeared.

Bolton Dementia Support Group warned service users to be careful with any emails from people you don't know.

The group asked people to delete any of these unexpected emails, after some scammers had pretended to be a contact sending a document.

Fraudsters are using a phishing technique to access data from innocent people by sending a fake Google Docs invite.

The email claims that a contact has invited you to view a document, and asks the recipient to click a link to view the item.

Google has strictly warned its users about the emails, and has also asked anyone who receives one to delete it.

Clicking on the link could expose your email account to scammers, letting them access personal information or account details.
