A round-up of people who have been convicted

A THIEF who burgled a shed in Stewart Street, Bolton, on December 10 has been ordered to undertake 60 hours of unpaid work. At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Gareth Davis, aged 41, of Brookdale Close, Astley Bridge, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. He was ordered to have treatment for drug addiction, participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and must pay £175 in costs and charges.

A DRINK DRIVER caught behind the wheel of a car on Trinity Retail Park, Bolton, had drunk more than three times the legal alcohol limit. At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Nikesh Gola, aged 22, of Mancroft Avenue, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Vauxhall Corsa on November 21. He was sentenced to do 80 hours of unpaid work and banned from holding a driving licence for two years. In addition he must pay £175 in costs and charges.

A WOMAN who attacked a civilian detention officer has been ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Kimberley Longworth, aged 31, of Lenham Gardens, Bolton, admitted committing the assault on October 26. She was fined £50 and ordered to pay her victim £150 in compensation.

A DRUG driver who had used cannabis when he got behind the wheel has been banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months. At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Jack Watts, aged 24, of Arthur Street, Little Lever, admitted committing the offence whilst driving an Audi A3 in Independent Street on April 13. As well as the driving ban he was fined £120.

A MAN has been ordered to participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities after he used racial threatening behaviour on August 24. At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Carl Neal, aged 54, of West Avenue, Farnworth, pleaded guilty and was fined £20 with £100 in compensation.

A DRUG driver has been banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months. At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Thomas Heap, aged 32, of Moorfield Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota RAV4 on Weston Street, Bolton on July 23 after using cannabis. He was fined £120 plus £119 in costs and charges.

A DRINK driver has been banned from holding a licence for 22 months. Wigan magistrates heard how Stephen Jones, aged 48, of Glen Avenue, Deane, had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit when he drove a Ford Fiesta on Green Bank Road, Bolton on November 8. He pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was fined £277 plus £119 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for two years after he pleaded guilty to fraudulently using bank cards in Bolton on August 31. Jason Wadsworth, aged 25, of no fixed address, must also pay a £20 victim surcharge.

A MAN who was caught drug driving has been sentenced to do 120 hours of unpaid work. Wigan magistrates heard how Fizan Ahanan Khan, aged 31, of Fylde Street, Farnworth, tested positive for cocaine and cannabis when he was stopped driving an Audi A4 in Fylde Street on April 11. He pleaded guilty to drug driving and, as well as the unpaid work, he was banned from holding a driving licence for two years. Khan must also pay £175 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man after he was caught with amphetamine in Bolton on September 10. At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Anthony Hobson, aged 47, of Wentbridge Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and also admitted failing to attend an earlier court hearing. He was fined £95 for the offence and was ordered to pay a further £119 in costs and charges.
