A MAN who went round to see his girlfriend discovered a party going on at her house.

Blackburn magistrates heard Blake Dawtrey started banging on a downstairs window which eventually broke.

Dawtrey, 27, of West Street, Padiham, pleaded guilty to criminal damage.

He was made subject to a curfew for four weeks between 7pm and 7am and ordered to pay £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Scott Parker, prosecuting, said police received a report of a man trying to get into a house on Green Lane, Padiham.

When they arrived the window was broken and Dawtrey was across the road with blood coming from his hands.

He said after his arrest Dawtrey tried to headbutt the wing mirror on the police van and then banged his head against the wall.

“His girlfriend, who refused to make a statement, said he had turned up and started banging and shouting before smashing the window,” said Mr Parker.

Phillip Turner, defending, said Dawtrey had gone round to see his girlfriend and when he got there discovered a party going on upstairs.

“He had been drinking and banged on the window until it smashed,” said Mr Turner.
