A NEW jewellers is set to open in the Market Place shopping centre in a former fashion outlet.

Beaverbrooks is relocating from Crompton Place in Bolton to a larger store store in the Market Place.

The family-owned jewellers, which celebrated its centenary in 2019, has signed a new lease and says it is "delighted" to have found a new home in the town.

Anna Blackburn, managing director of Beaverbrooks, said: “We are committed to our loyal customer base in Bolton and we are excited to build on our longstanding relationship by relocating to a new store in the Market Place, where we’ll continue to provide exceptional quality diamonds, jewellery and watches, and an even better shopping experience.

“We look forward to opening our doors in Spring 2021 and are optimistic about the future success of our new store in the Market Place Centre, which is fast-becoming known as the heart of Bolton for high end fashion, as well as a retail and leisure destination serving the wider north west region.”

The jeweller will move into the former Yours store in the Market Place.

Alison Stewart, asset manager at Market Place owners the Moorgarth Group, added: “The Market Place has repurposed and opened the Vaults for restaurant and leisure within the town centre.

“Our £27 million investment, paired with Bolton Council’s exciting £1.5 billion regeneration plans, including the demolition of Crompton Place, will enable the town centre to move forward and ensure it continues to retain and attract the very best retailers, eateries and leisure operators.

“We feel Beaverbrooks’ commitment to the Market Place, particularly against a backdrop of uncertain times within the retail sector, is a very significant and incredibly positive step in this journey.”

Beaverbrooks will join H&M, Boots, Next, River Island, JD Sports, New Look, Footasylum, Pandora, Hotel Chocolat, Ernest Jones and The Entertainer at Market Place, as well as a wealth of local independents, the Light Cinema, and a wide range of eateries. Beaverbrooks was established in 1919 and has 72 stores across the UK.
