Half of the areas in Bolton have recorded an increase in coronavirus cases and infection rates, according to the government's Covid-19 data map.
The other half of areas in Bolton have either had few cases in the seven days leading to December 21 or have recorded the same amount.
The latest data shows that Harper Green saw the biggest increase in cases from the previous seven days, with nine new cases. Overall there were 17 cases in Harper Green in the seven days to December 22, an infection rate of 201.5 per 100,000 people.
Blackrod and Butterwick Fields is recording the highest rate per 100,000 residents in Bolton with 314.3 in the seven days to December 22.
However, it's number of cases did not increase in these days, recording 19 new cases.
Lostock with Ladybridge has the second highest infection rate in the borough with 258.3 per 100,000 people, having recorded 19 new cases, an increase of four from the week before.
Horwich North, Horwich East, and Ainsworth with Bradley Fold are also all recording an infection rate of above 200 per 100,000 residents.
However, 14 areas in Bolton did record fewer cases in the seven days to December 22.
Astley Bridge with Waters Meeting and Harwood both recorded eight fewer cases that the week before, but both still have an infection rate over 200 per 100,000 residents.
Four Bolton areas recorded both fewer cases and an infection rate below 100 per 100,000.
Farnworth South saw 5 few cases up to December 22 meaning an infection rate of 96.1 per 100,000.
Halliwell with Brownlow Fold recorded only five cases giving them the lowest infection rate in the borough with 59.1 per 100,000 residents.
Rumworth South, Doffcocker with Moss Bank, Gilnow with Victory, and Little Lever also all saw their infection rates be 100 per 100,000 or below.
All Seven–day rates are expressed per 100,000 population and are calculated by dividing the seven day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.
