A MUM was assaulted when she tried to stop her partner attacking her daughter who he said he would "disfigure".

Blackburn magistrates heard Liviu Mitic punched the younger woman in the eye while shouting "I'll kill her."

Liviu, 37, of Robert Street, Nelson, pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner and her daughter and damaging a passport. He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report with a warning that all options, including custody, would be open to the sentencing bench.

Sazeeda Ismail, prosecuting, said the incident happened at the home the couple shared in Burnley.

"She says she is terrified of him due to previous incidents," said Miss Ismail.

"She says he is controlling and when he is in drink, as he was on this occasion, he becomes aggressive."

She said Mitic was becoming more and more aggressive and said he would hang her daughter up and disfigure her.

He grabbed the mother and punched her and then tried to get at her daughter, shouting that she was a slag. The mother intervened and was pushed to the floor.

"He then punched her daughter in the eye and kicked her in the mouth," said Miss Ismail.

"She was screaming in pain and pleading with him to leave her alone.

"The mother said she was terrified he would actually kill the daughter before she managed to pull him off."
