A MAN and a woman have appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with the murder of Nigel Scott.
Marina Westlund, 26, of Clarendon Road East, Blackburn, and Daniel Butler, 32, of Walker Street, Preston, were sent in custody to Preston Crown Court charged with the murder of Mr Scott, 58, from Preston.
He was found in Clarendon Road East on December 27 with serious injuries. He died in hospital the next day.
Westlund and Butler appeared separately.
Westlund spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address before being remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday.
Butler confirmed that his solicitor was not present and agreed to proceed without representation. He confirmed his name, address and date of birth and was also sent to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on Tuesday.
