A MAN has been jailed after he was caught drink driving whilst on bail for committing the same offence.
Manchester magistrates heard how Peter Venables, aged 31, of Winchester Way, Bolton was over the alcohol limit when he was stopped driving a Renault Megane on College Way, Bolton on December 11 last year.
Venables, who was already subject to a suspended prison sentence for carrying a knife in public in Radcliffe in June last year, was stopped again in the same car on Gibraltar Street, Bolton, on January 2.
This time, breath tests showed he had drunk double the legal alcohol limit.
He pleaded guilty to both drink driving offences and magistrates jailed him for 22 weeks.
He was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and was banned from driving for three years.
