Hoping to get on the property ladder this year?

We all know how expensive buying a house can be and you have to pay close attention to the property market in order to scoop a bargain.

The pandemic has also had a significant impact on the Bolton property market and house prices have continued to climb since August 2020.

However, not every property has to cost a fortune.

There are some properties on the market that seen a significant price reduction in the last few years- could they be your next dream home?

Here are five properties which have seen the greatest price reduction:

Lea Gate Farm, Harwood
£850,000 (guide price)

According to Zoopla, this Harwood property has seen the biggest overall price reduction since it was first listed.

The grand property was first listed for a whopping £1,250,000 but this price has been reduced by 32 per cent since being listed for sale in February 2019- which might be down to the fact that the property requires a significant amount of work.

The historic Lea Gate Farm has plenty to offer any prospective buyers- who have a spare £850,000.

It has been owned by the same family for decades but is now being placed on the market for other generations to admire in the hopes that it can be transformed and developed into something spectacular.

The farm house is in need of a full renovation but it has still retained much of its period charm and character.

Developers also get the chance to work on the surrounding barns and land available.

Manchester Road
£275,000

The price of this nine bedroom terraced house has been slashed by more than 26 per cent since first being listed.

It was first listed for sale in August 2019 when it was priced at £375, 000.

Since then, it has seen five price reductions being slashed by a total of £100,000.

The unique property is described as “deceptively spacious” and located in an ideal city centre location.

All of the nine bedrooms are big enough to accommodate a double bed but some are more spacious than other.

The property also benefits from a basement and two dining/ kitchen areas.

On the market for a three bedroom semi-detached house?

If so, you might be in luck as this Willowbank Avenue property is on the market- and it has seen two price reduction of 25.8 per cent since first being listed for £155,000 last September.

The latest price reduction occurred just weeks ago (4th January) when the price was slashed by £30,000.

The house would be a great little starter home for couples or famillies.

Two of the bedrooms are double with an additional single bedroom.

The lounge features a large bay window which allows plenty of natural light to flow in.

This two bedroom bungalow was first listed for £224,950 last March.

Since then, the property’s price has been slashed by £49,950 which is over one fifth of the original asking price.

The property is generously sized and the interiors are much bigger than they appear.

The décor is neutral, allowing the new owner to put their own stamp on the property and truly make it their own.

The lounge of the property boasts a feature fireplace, complete with an electric fire.

The property even benefits from its own lawned garden, complete with a patio area and a greenhouse.

£650,000

Finally, this three bedroom home has seen a total price reduction of 18.8 per cent since first being listed for sale in October.

Since then, the property price has been slashed three times.

This might be down to the extensive renovations that need to be conducted before it can be lived in.

However, the property has bags of potential and could be a great place to live once the right investor comes along.

There is potential for the property to be extended into a five bedroom home if three isn’t enough.

It’s also in a fantastic location within easy reach of Turnton Tower and a short distance from Jumbles Country Park.
