Drama at Doffcocker as sleeping swan frozen into the ice
Firefighters and police officers joined RSPCA officials to save a swan which had become trapped on the ice overnight at Doffcocker Reservoir in 2003.
Temperatures had plummeted during the night causing the water to freeze around the sleeping swan and it took a specialist rescue team to free it.
