You can see why Le Mans Crescent in Bolton has been a favourite of film and TV companies over the years.
This moody night-time photograph was taken in 1980 and looks like a still from a movie. The impressive architecture could easily be mistaken for an imposing crescent in London or a major foreign city
Thankfully, the Crescent has changed very little over the years but the cars which line the street most certainly have.
Among the cars we spotted are a Ford Cortina Mark 3, a good old Mini, an Austin Maestro, a Citroen 2CV and a Rover P6. With a bit of close study car lovers will probably be able to pick out a few more.
If you have any photographs of Bolton’s streets over the years we’d love to share them with Looking Back readers. Email john.anson@nqnw.co.uk
