WE have looked at the work of Bolton steel fabricators John Booth and Sons in Looking Back before.
The company, initially based at the Marsden Road Ironworks and then later at the Hulton Steelworks, dealt with projects on a epic scale supplying box girders for everything from motorway bridges to sky scrapers.
This picture, taken in 1977, shows the work taking place at Goodison Park home of First Division football club Everton FC.
The new Goodison Road stand would have a framework made in Bolton by Booth's and then transported down the East Lancs Road by specialist hauliers.
The new stand sat next to St Lukes' Church which still stands in the corner of the ground.
