BUSTED: The silver Vauxhall Astra seized from Deane Road
OFFICERS have seized another uninsured car from the streets of Bolton.
A patrol on Friday night spotted a silver Vauxhall Astra parked in the bus lane on Deane Road – despite there being empty parking spaces nearby.
When officers approached the alleged driver, who police say was waiting for his friend to collect a takeaway, they found he was uninsured.
A member of the GMP Bolton South policing team said: "This vehicle was parked in the bus lane of Deane Road whilst his friend collected food, causing issues for buses driving into Bolton.
"Strange, however, as there were spaces to park, but when speaking to the driver he was found to be uninsured."
The car has been seized and the driver has been reported.
