ALL that’s missing from this photograph is the slide, then you’d have the complete playground Sixties-style.

The picture was taken at Ainsworth in 1967 and shows youngsters making the most of what would now be termed the play facilities.

Over on the swings mums are giving their children a push while over on the roundabout the girls seem to have made it their own.

Who remembers the ‘rocking horse’ in the foreground? The iron handles you were supposed to hold on to made many a young boy’s eyes water - I speak from personal experience!

In the background it looks as though dad has just arrived to take his child or children home for tea.
