A CARELESS driver had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit, magistrates heard. Saul Guffogg, aged 21, of Melbury Drive, Lostock, was caught drink driving in a Vauxhall Corsa on Hindley Road, Westhoughton, on December 19.He pleaded guilty to committing the offence and to careless driving and was banned from the roads for 18 months.He was also fined £300.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to pay £800 in compensation after he smashed a house window and car windscreen on December 23 last year. Naeem Azam, aged 39, of Dorset Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage and was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months.

A MAN who damaged a patio door and car window in November last year has been ordered to pay his victim £300 in compensation. Daniel Jones, aged 37, of Kent Court, School Hill, Bolton, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage. A restraining order was made banning him from going to Davenport Street, Bolton.

MAGISTRATES have banned Christopher Day, aged 28, of Brunswick Avenue, Horwich, from driving for 14 days and fined him £300 after he pleaded guilty to having no insurance for the Vauxhall Vectra he was driving on Chorley New Road, Bolton on May 24 last year.

A DRIVER has been electronically tagged and banned from the roads for three years after he failed to provide a breath specimen to police. Mark Buckley, aged 36, of Lords Stile Lane, Bromley Cross, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on December 10 last year. He was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 12 weeks.

A WOMAN who drove a Peugeot 108 after using cannabis has been banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months. Beata Brzezinska, aged 26, of Ramsay Avenue, Farnworth, was driving the vehicle on Bolton Road, Bury on January 13. She was also fined £120.

AN UNINSURED driver has been banned from holding a licence for six months. Christian Jackson, aged 39, of Astley Brook Close, Bolton, used a VW Polo on Waters Meeting Road, Bolton on May 27 last year without insurance. He was also fined £660.

A MOTORIST has been banned from the roads for six months after he failed to name the driver of a Skoda Fabia to police. Stephen Iddon, aged 34, of Cloister Street, Bolton, was also fined £660.

A TEENAGER drove a Seat Ibiza on Church Road, Radcliffe, on May 22 last year without wearing a seat belt or having a licence and insurance. Kyle Heap, aged 19, of Woodhill Road, Bury, was banned from applying for a driving licence for eight months and fined £660.

A DRINK driver involved in a crash in Kearsley last month had drunk almost four times the legal level of alcohol. Kazimiras Vinickas, aged 60, of Rogerstead, Bolton, was driving a Citroen Xsara Picasso on Pilkington Road, Kearsley, on December 28. He pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. Vinickas, a Lithuanian national, was also ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and was banned from holding a driving licence for two years and five months.

A MAN caught carrying an eight-inch bladed kitchen knife has been given a suspended prison sentence. Stephen Nambwe, aged 26, of High Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on September 5 last year. The court heard that, at the time he had the knife, Nambwe was under the influence of a psychoactive substance and he was told that the public need to be protected from him. He was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years and ordered to have treatment for mental health for nine months. He must also participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities.

AN AUDI driver has been fined for careless driving. Mohammad Tahzeem, aged 31, of Greenleas, Lostock, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving an Audi RS5 on Beaumont Road, Bolton, on July 9. He was fined £293 and six penalty points were added to his licence.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months. Elliot Manuel, aged 27, of Daisy Avenue, Farnworth, admitted committing the offence when driving a Range Rover Evoque on Watergate Lane, Bolton, on December 23 last year.He was also fined £120.
