FANS of RuPaul’s Drag Race are rejoicing in the return of the show’s second UK series, but two Bolton friends have gone one step further by launching a podcast review show.

Drag queen Nadia Business, the alter ego of Stephen Lim, along with his best friend Lorna Newman are hosts of The Brit Stop on Youtube.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK features Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Michelle Visage as judges, along with RuPaul himself.

In the weekly podcast episodes the friends analyse and review the show, discussing the drag queens’ best moments, as well as going through some of the more surprising looks.

The pair, who met at Turton High School, have been longstanding fans of the show and as lockdown boredom set in, they decided to give podcasting a go.

Stephen said:”Obviously with myself being a drag queen and Lorna being my best friend we are very invested in the show.

“We used to ring each other up after watching it and have hour long conversations, some people may think that’s sad but we absolutely love it.

“There’s so much fan content out there for the show we decided to give it a go ourselves.

“Hopefully it will help raise my profile as a drag queen since I’m unable to perform at the moment.”

Earlier this year Stephen was the first person to receive a kidney transplant at Manchester Royal Infirmary after the first lockdown.

He’s been recovering well, reaching his six month review and has now come off some of his medication.

Stephen added:”We film the podcast on Saturday mornings at 11am but for the first show I had to get up at 6am to shave my beard, its been a while since I’d been in drag.

“The auditions for season three have already happened and I wasn’t able to enter, but watch this space for season four, I’d love to go on it myself.

“We’ve bought everything for the podcast ourselves, from the microphones to the curtains, and it’s all edited by Lorna’s boyfriend Joe Belham.

“The editing makes it really funny, when I watched it after Joe had put it all together I couldn’t stop laughing.

“What we love about the show is how entertaining it is, the UK version really shines a light on our drag queen scene."
