THERE have now been a total of 528 Covid-related deaths recorded at Royal Bolton Hospital since the pandemic began, although none were recorded over the weekend.

The current infection rate for the town is at 359 per 100,000 for the seven days to January 20. There have been a total of 20,910 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the borough as of 4pm Monday.

The NHS data is for those who have died in hospitals in England and either tested positive for Covid-19 or where no positive test result was received for Covid-19, but Covid-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

Nationally, a further 592 people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 98,531.
