Eight more people have died of coronavirus at the Royal Bolton Hospital, according to the latest figures.
Data released daily by NHS England showed that eight more patients had died of Covid-19 as of yesterday, bringing the total amount to have died from the virus at hospital to 536.
The first of these deaths occurred last Friday (January 22) with two the day after, three on Sunday, and another two on Monday January 25.
This comes as the total Covid-19 death toll since the start of the pandemic for the UK passed 100,000 yesterday.
A further 1,631 died across the UK yesterday, taking the UK's overall figure to 100,162 as of Tuesday.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said this was “heart-breaking” and warned there is still “a tough period ahead”.
