Traffic was stopped on a large of the M61 today due to animals on the road.
Traffic was stopped northbound (towards Chorley) from J5 A58 Snydale Way near Westhoughton to J6 A6027 De Havilland Way near Horwich at around 4:50pm.
All traffic in this direction was temporarily held with stationary traffic due to animals on road.
Traffic officers had to attend the scene to move the animals along and get traffic moving again.
The animals disrupted traffic for around 10 minutes.
