A LANDMARK milestone was achieved in the fight against coronavirus at a Bolton medical centre at the weekend.
The Bolton GP Federation reported yesterday that the Avondale Health Centre on Avondale Street gave its 10,000 Covid-19 vaccination.
The public body said that Hasmukh Patel, 65, received the vaccine, to reach the five-figure mark.
A spokesman for the federation said: "We have just given our 10,000th vaccine!
"65-year-old Hasmukh Patel received it at Avondale Health Centre.
"Also pictured is Baz Barlow, clinical shift lead, and nurse Jill Lyons."
"What a fantastic achievement."
Chief officer at the federation, Michael Smith, praised the team at the centre for their hard work in administering so many Covid-19 vaccinations in such a short period of time.
Taking to social media, he said: "10,000 people vaccinated before the end of January, so proud of the whole team, volunteers and partners who have made this possible."
Residents are being invited to receive their coronavirus vaccines in order of clinical priority, as set out by the government.
