Two lanes were closed on the M61 due to an accident which saw a car flip onto its roof today.
Traffic was brought to a halt southbound between junction eight in Chorley to junction six near De Havilland Way, Horwich.
This is due to a collision at junction eight around 11:38am today between two cars, in whcih one car ended up on its roof, according to police.
The lanes reopened around 12:45pm.
There were no reports on any serious injuries.
A Lancashire Police spokesman, said: "We were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the m61, southbound at junction 8, at 11.38am today.
"It appears one of the vehicles has ended up on its roof. There are no reports of any serious injuries."
