MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 26 weeks after he pleaded guilty to harassing a woman on November 4 last year, damaging her doorbell and possessing a metal bar. Children were present when Stuart Smith, aged 34, of Le Gendre Street, Bolton, committed the crimes.

A DRUG driver has been banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months. Shehraz Bibi, aged 20, of Deane Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A6 on St Helens Road, Bolton, on July 25 last year after using cannabis. He also admitted using a vehicle with a defective rear light and was fined £120.

A MAN has been banned from the roads for 20 months after he was found to have drunk almost double the legal limit of alcohol for driving. Christopher Gill, aged 28, of Presto Street, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving a Citroen on Bolton Road, Kearsley, on December 29 last year. He was also fined £303.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £660 for participating in an indoor gathering at Calder Drive, Bolton, on September 26 last year. Kyle Roberts, aged 27, of Ellerby Avenue, Swinton, was convicted, in his absence, of breaking coronavirus regulations after he failed to turn up to Bolton Magistrates’ Court.

A MAN has been electronically tagged and given a curfew after he was found guilty of assaulting a woman on October 28. Paul Dale’s victim lost consciousness during the attack. Dale, aged 39, of Hawker Avenue, Great Lever, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. He was also made subject to a 7pm to7am curfew for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

A DRUG-driver has been fined £120 and banned from holding a licence for six months. Joseph Heyes, aged 44, of Wallbrook Crescent, Little Hulton, admitted driving a Skoda Roomster on Vickers Lane, Salford on June 4 last year after using cannabis.

A MAN who pelleted a police van with a rock as officers tried to break up party-goers breaching coronavirus lockdown rules in Crummock Grove, Farnworth, on August 22 last year, has been fined £100. Ashley Howarth, aged 33, of Turnberry, Bolton, was also ordered to pay Greater Manchester Police £500 for the damaged van.

A MAN who used violence to force his way into Hennigans pub in Breightmet and assault a woman has been ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work. Michael Adams, aged 41, of Falkland Road, Breightmet, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on August 25 last year. He must participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay the pub £150 in compensation. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting the woman.

A WOMAN caught handling a bottle of stolen vodka on April 1 has been fined £80. Danielle Davies, aged 37, of Crook Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was also ordered to pay £20 in compensation.

A MAN caught drink-driving for a second time has been banned from the roads for three years. Sean Sheridan, aged 29, of Mobberley Road, Bolton, has only ever held a provisional driving licence. On February 26 last year he was over the alcohol limit when he drove a Dacia Sandaro on Mobberley Road, Bolton. He pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was fined £120.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 80 hours of unpaid work after he was found guilty of assault on January 22 last year. Yagoub Matar, aged 51, of Bailey Lane, Breightmet, was also ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay his victim £200 in compensation.

A MAN who had no licence or insurance and failed to provide a breath specimen to police has been fined £270. Jabile Ramadhani, aged 48, of Mercia Street, Bolton was stopped when driving a Ford Fiesta on Higher Bridge Street, Bolton, on July 31. He was banned from applying for a licence for 12 months.

A WOMAN who hosted a gathering of 15 people from different households on September 11 last year has been ordered to pay £100 in fines and costs. Leanne Brooks, aged 36, of Eden Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to breaking the coronavirus regulations.

A BURGLAR who broke into the Doubletree 93 restaurant in Bradshawgate, Bolton on April 1 last year has been jailed for 18 weeks. Paul Taylor, aged 45, of Ormrod Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to stealing a CD player and spirits, worth £400. He was ordered to pay the restaurant £150 in compensation.

A MOTORIST who failed to provide police with a breath sample has been fined £300 and banned from driving for two years. Claude Amissi, aged 35, of Rostherne Gardens, Bolton, admitted committing the offence in Bolton on March 1.

A DRIVER narrowly avoided crashing into other vehicles during a high-speed police chase through Bolton, in a Vauxhall Corsa, on March 21, 2019. David Greer, aged 52, of Stevenson Close, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and having no insurance. Magistrates sentenced him to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, ordered him to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work and he must participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. He was also banned from driving for two years.
