A NEW barber shop is coming to Horwich - with a unique modern twist.

Hideaway Barber Lounge will ooze luxury for customers - who can enjoy a complimentary beer or soft drink as they wait.

Describing itself as the “ultimate experience”, the shop in Lee Lane is due to open when lockdown restrictions reasonably allow.

As you wait for your haircut or treatment, you can drink a fresh coffee or cold beer on one of their sofas - or play a game of pool to pass the time.

Customers can also get a a squirt of a designer aftershaves before they leave.

Owner Alex Mirralles, 32, said: “It’s not meant to be like your normal barbers - this is more of an experience.

“The ethos is luxury but at affordable prices. I used to work in Manchester and London and had my haircut at amazing places with great experiences but paid a fortune.

“There’s nothing like what we are offering in Horwich or even in Bolton so I really wanted to do something here.”

Memberships are also available at the barbers, with the schemes allowing a certain number of cuts per month, while a raffle is also available for clients.

The prizes will range from Airpods to hotel getaways and a year of free haircuts.

The general theme of the barber shop will be heavily industrial, with colours and furniture matching the vibe. Scaffolding beams and metal brackets will form benches, while a shipping container style encompasses the wider shop.

Alex already owns Bark Groomers in Adlington, with his new venture a fresh direction.

He had previously hoped to be able to open soon into the New Year, but was restricted by the latest lockdown.

He added: “We hope to have everything up and running by April, where we will have everything a lot more detailed and ready.

“We will also be offering things like massages and skin micro-pigmentation in the future, so there are a lot of different things available for people. We’re also going to be doing live DJ sets too.

“I want it to be a hidden away chill-out spot for people in Horwich.”
