A UTILITIES firm based in Westhoughton is going from strength to strength despite the coronavirus pandemic and has taken on more staff to cope with demand.

Aptus Utilities, a multi-utility connections provider, has secured 42 contracts with over 2,900 plots.

They have now hired 14 additional employees in order to keep up with the increased workload.

The company delivers gas, water, electric, fibre and street lighting installation services to development sites across the UK.

For these contracts Aptus Utilities are working with 25 clients across all five regions they operate in.

February also saw the business take on an additional five new clients.

This success has meant the company has been able to offer employment at a time of economic uncertainty.

Lisa Kerford, managing director, said:“2020 was a challenging year but thanks to the hard work and commitment of all of our colleagues we continued to grow.

“Our advanced multi-utility capability and exceptional customer service sets us apart from competitors and has been pivotal to the company’s success, helping to cement Aptus Utilities’ position as a leading multi utility provider within the UK housebuilding industry.”

Aptus Utilities celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020, during that time the firm has built relationships with local highway authorities and existing utility network owners.

The business works with a range of clients from small regional operations to national construction companies.

Operating across Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Tyne and Wear, the organisation comprises around 400 employees and subcontractors.

Around 130 people are employed at Aptus Utility’s Bolton head office, which is home to their north west operational management team.
