A COFFEE shop in a horsebox which opened at the end of January for walkers has had to change its location.

Around A Pound opened on the Jumbles Walk in Grange Road and was a hit with customers.

However, as a few local residents objected to the business being set up at that location, the owner, Joe Rigby, did not have license renewed for the area.

The horse-box conversion caters for all winter walking needs, serving products including fresh roasted coffee, speciality teas, luxury hot chocolates, toasties, sandwiches and a variety of sweet treats.

The new location for Around A Pound will be Queen's Park, where it opened as of today.

Writing on the business' Facebook account, Joe said: "As a young local lad starting a small business, I was apprehensive to set up during the pandemic. The support I have had is incredible and I cannot thank our customers enough for supporting me the past few weeks.

"Unfortunately, a few local residents have objected to my business setting up on Grange Road. This has meant that my licence will not be renewed for this location. As of tomorrow Saturday 20th February, I will be located at Queens Park, Bolton.

"We are still open today 10-4 on Grange Road and I look forward to seeing all our customers as usual!

"We still hope to see many of our amazing customers in our new venture, can’t wait to see you."

Joe received countless comments from Facebook users, who praised his venture and wished him the best for the future.

One user said: "Unbelievable! It’s just what this walk needed somewhere to get a decent hot drink. Wishing you the best of luck for your new location. Maybe see about Entwistle could do with somewhere there too xxx"

Another said: "Everyone has loved coming for drinks over half term. Xx Thank you for your hospitality and giving us something positive to look forward to on our walks in these crazy times."

A third said: "I’m absolutely gutted for you Joe. Loved having a drink after our jumbles walk. Please try and see if you can find locations at Wayoh or Entwistle.

"Wishing you lots of luck for Queens Park."
