A PUBLISHER focusing on northern writers has been launched to compete with the southern-based industry.
Northodox Press began in August last year with the aim of promoting northern writers.
Initially focusing on crime fiction, the publisher has released its first title this month, Under the Bridge, by Liverpudlian author Jack Byrne.
Other releases are in the pipeline.
They are looking for more writers to take on who are based in the north or come from the area.
Publisher James Gaskell said: "If you're exhausted by a book market oversaturated with stories of a London-centric Britain or the cosy-crime of the Cotswolds, look no further."
