MORE than 600 people have now died at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust due to Covid-19.

The latest figures published by the NHS show 603 people have died since March last year.

There have been 23,667 confirmed cases of the virus in Bolton since the outbreak of the pandemic.

There were 239 cases per 100,000 people in Bolton in the week of February 9 to February 15.

A further 258 people who tested positive for coronavirus died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 81,304, NHS England said on Sunday.

Patients were aged between 29 and 101. All except 17, aged between 52 and 100, had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths were between December 10 and February 20.

As of Tuesday, Bolton Trust was caring for 114 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on February 16 was down from 115 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 decreased by 21% in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 145.

Across England there were 17,093 people in hospital with Covid as of February 16, with 2,484 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The figures show that 48 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in the week to February 14, down from 86 the previous week.
