A RAPIST is back behind bars after hurling racist abuse at innocent Christmas shoppers.

Bolton man John Dunbar’s disgusting tirade was filmed by members of the public visiting Liverpool One shopping centre.

The 57-year-old, who used to be called Stuart Partington, hurled racist abuse at three Asian men during the incident in December last year.

During proceedings at Liverpool Crown Court, it emerged that in 1996, Dunbar, who was then living in Bolton, was jailed for life with a recommendation he served at least eight years after he robbed and terrorised female staff with a knife in four Bolton shops.

One of the women was sexually assaulted when Dunbar cut through her clothes, fondled her breasts and removed other clothing.

The court heard he was freed less than a month earlier from a seven year term imposed in May 1991, for raping a woman.

After he was challenged by onlookers following his latest offence, Dunbar, who had been out of jail for six weeks, told people he had been released from a 26 year prison sentence.

On December 2 at around 5pm, he had approached two Asian men and told them to “f*** off” and was heard to say “This is my country, don’t f***ing invade my country with your f***ing s***.”

He was later charged with assaulting an emergency worker after he headbutted one of the police officers who arrested him.

Dunbar, of Great Howard Street, Liverpool, has 26 previous convictions for 60 offences.

Jailing him for three years, Judge Louise Brandon, said: “This was a shameful performance.”
