A THIRD man has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder a man in a shooting at Lindfield Drive, Halliwell.

Police were called to the area in the early hours of November 7 last year after nearby resident Jon Lee Robinson, was shot.

Yesterday, at Bolton Magistrates' Court, Abdul Malik Said, aged 21, of Langdon Close, Halliwell, appeared in court via a video link accused of the attempted murder of Mr Robinson and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

No plea was entered and Said was remanded in custody to next appear at Bolton Crown Court on March 22.

Said's appearance before magistrates follows those of his co-defendants.

Ismail Abdullahi, aged 22, of Chetwood Drive, Bolton and Sabir Abdulkadir, aged 21, of Rawcliffe Street, Manchester, have already appeared before magistrates accused of attempting to murder Mr Robinson and have also been remanded in custody.

Following the shooting police started a major investigation, sealing off the area surrounding Lindfield Drive and residents expressed concern.

“It was shocking for me to hear of a report of a firearm in a residential area. People are naturally worried about it," said Halliwell councillor Akhtar Zaman.
